My name is Rose and I live in Oldham with My husband and Chocolate Labrador Cassie.
I grew up on a farm in a village called Warburton with my sister and parents we lived in a bungalow on the farm. My Grandad and Granny lived in the farmhouse. It was a top childhood playing and building things in the hay. Terrifying the animals by running after them and trying to catch them. It is here where my love of baking began. Me and my sister use to make scones, coconut ice and peppermint creams with our Gran then devour the lot. I remember once eating a whole Mr kipling’s battenberg cake in the days before the mini ones, needless to say I was sick that night. My dad has always told me when he was a boy he use to call battenberg cake, field cake as it looked like neatly ploughed fields.
I love taking Cassie out for walks. I have found yoga classes very helpful for mind, body and soul. I keep trying to fit a zumba class in but that always seems to get missed. I do however go to the Wii zumba classes… do they count?
In September 2011 I married the love of my life. We did a lot of it ourselves with the help of friends and family as our budget was tight. I will be sharing all the home made and recycled items we used with you at some stage. On the Thursday after the wedding my sister gave birth so I became a auntie and wife in the same week. I hope to share with you some of my family moments and memories as there is nothing more sweet and beautiful than my baby Nephew.
The idea behind this blog is to share all what I think is sweet and beautiful. I also plan to share my recipes with step by step instructions. Try out new recipes and hunt out and eat at special cafes take photos and let you know what I think of them and where to find them.
